The holidays are here, and along with the lights, gatherings, and celebrations comes one of the best parts of the season: making memories together.
Whether you’re looking for a family tradition, a festive night of live music, or something magical to look forward to in the new year, Chico Performances has three shows at Laxson Auditorium to make the season a little more special.
Step Into a Holiday Classic With A Christmas Carol
Legacy Stage presents A Christmas Carol
Dec. 11-13 | Laxson Auditorium
Charles Dickens’ timeless story comes to life onstage as Ebenezer Scrooge journeys through Christmases past, present, and future and discovers that it’s never too late to change.
Presented by Chico’s own Legacy Stage, A Christmas Carol is filled with the characters, atmosphere, and message that have made this story a holiday favorite for generations. With evening and matinee performances throughout the weekend, it’s a wonderful tradition to share with family and friends.
Celebrate the Season With Camila Fernández
Camila Fernández y su Mariachi: Una auténtica fiesta mexicana
Thursday, Dec. 17 | 7:30 p.m.
Just days before Christmas, Laxson Auditorium welcomes Camila Fernández for an evening of mariachi and Mexican regional music.
Fernández carries forward one of Mexico’s most celebrated musical legacies as the daughter of Alejandro Fernández and granddaughter of Vicente Fernández, while establishing a sound and career distinctly her own. Her December performance brings a vibrant fiesta mexicana to Chico at the heart of the holiday season.
Gather your friends and family, and turn a December night out into a celebration filled with incredible music, energy, and tradition.
Follow the Yellow Brick Road Into the New Year
Chico Community Ballet presents The Land of Oz
Jan. 29-31 | Laxson Auditorium
Keep the magic going after the holidays with an entirely new adventure from Chico Community Ballet.
For the first time since creating A Very Chico Nutcracker a decade ago, Chico Community Ballet is debuting an original full-length ballet. The Land of Oz will transport audiences beyond the rainbow, from Munchkinland and the mysterious forest to the Emerald City and the winding yellow brick road.
Featuring original scenic, lighting, and costume designs, the production brings a beloved world to life through dance while showcasing the creativity of Chico’s own arts community.
It’s a magical way for families to begin 2027 together — and perhaps the start of a brand-new Chico tradition.
Give an Experience This Holiday Season
The best gifts don’t always come wrapped. A night at Laxson Auditorium is a chance to get together, experience something extraordinary, and make memories long after the holiday decorations come down.
From a Christmas classic and a joyful night of mariachi to a trip over the rainbow, make live performance part of your holiday season.
