About Our Field Trips 

Chico Performances presents arts and educational programs for students of all ages each season, bringing thousands of students, teachers, and homeschool families to Laxson Auditorium to experience theater, dance, music, puppetry, and more.

Information for Teachers and Homeschool Families 

  • Registration for the 2026–2027 Field Trip Season opens Thursday, August 20, 2026.  
    Registration is available for schools and homeschool groups.  
  • All field trips cost $8 per seat
  • Most performances run approximately 50 minutes to one hour.  
  • Each field trip performance connects to California Arts Standards, listed on individual event pages.  
  • Registration forms are requests and do not guarantee tickets. Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and the Field Trip Coordinator will contact groups selected to attend.

Calls and emails are returned Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please allow up to 72 hours for a response. 

Before You Arrive 

  • Seating is pre-assigned by group and begins 30 minutes before the performance start time. Late arrivals may experience seating delays or be seated in a different section at the discretion of the House Manager to avoid disrupting the performance.  
  • Accessibility and seating accommodation requests should be submitted at least 30 days before the performance.  
  • Service animals: ADA-compliant service animals are welcome. Emotional support, therapy and comfort animals are not permitted. Misrepresentation of a service animal is prohibited under California Civil Code Section 54.8. 
  • Please review the S.T.A.R. Audiences guidelines with students before attending.  
  • Group leaders are responsible for helping ensure a safe and respectful experience for all attendees.  
  • Please bring your field trip ticket and check in with staff at the auditorium entrance.  
  • Food, drinks, cell phones, cameras, video cameras, and recording devices may not be used during performances.
  • Large bins are available in the lobby for class lunches and storage.
  • Updated bag policy: No excessively large bags, purses, or backpacks will be permitted inside the venue. Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags. All other bags must be 12″ x 6″ x 12″ or smaller.

Parking and Bus Information 

  • Bus loading/unloading: At the intersection of Arcadian and Solwilleno Avenues, (behind Bidwell Mansion), next to Holt Hall
  • Buses may not drop off or pick up at the Laxson round-about (on Salem and 2nd).
  •  Bus parking: Street parking on Brice Avenue and La Vista Way, off Warner Street. (Will be reserved for Bus Parking Only).
  • Buses may not park at Bidwell Mansion.  
  • Campus parking is limited during field trip performances.  
  • Hourly parking is available through the Passport Parking App or at ppprk.com.  
  • Additional city parking information is available through the City of Chico and Downtown Chico parking resources.  

Cancellation and Exchanges 

  • Please review performance dates carefully for conflicts before registering.
  • Changes and cancellations must be requested at least 45 days before the performance date.
  • Cancellations made 45+ days before the performance will be refunded, minus a 10% cancellation fee (or a $10 flat fee for orders of fewer than 10 tickets).
  • Groups that cancel with fewer than 45 days before the performance remain responsible for full payment.
