Bonnie Pipkin
Writer, Producer, Educator, Merrymaker

Bonnie Pipkin is a lover of stories, on the page and off. She is the creator, producer, and host of Bonfire Multi-Generational Storytelling, Chico’s beloved sold-out storytelling series where five storytellers from five different decades share true stories on stage, building connection across generations and communities.

In 2017, her dream of seeing her novel on bookstore and library shelves came true. Since then, she has continued writing novels, essays, poetry, love letters, and to-do lists. She teaches in the Journalism Department at Chico State, and believes deeply in the power of stories to bring people together.

She is also the mother of two fierce young daughters, a devoted wearer of red lipstick, and one who dips in the ocean whenever she gets the chance, even if it is freezing.

As a writer, storyteller, and lifelong admirer of the women who have expanded what stories can do in the world, she holds deep gratitude for Amy Tan, whose work illuminated this path.
