Parking
Downtown Chico Parking
Smart parking meters, kiosk parking, and free parking can be found throughout Downtown Chico. Parking locations and directions for using the meters or kiosks may be found by going to the Downtown Chico Business Association Website.
On-Campus Parking
Parking permits are required Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Daily or hourly parking permits are available for purchase. For campus parking locations please refer to the University Campus Map-Parking.
How to pay for campus parking
- Download the Passport Parking App to purchase a campus parking permit with the Passport Parking app (Available at the iPhone App Store and Android Google Play Store).
- Campus parking permit may be purchased online by going to https://ppprk.com/park

Arts Recital Hall
The Arts Recital Hall is designed for intimate performances, with 196 seats, warm natural wood details, and variable acoustics that bring the sound closer. It’s a welcoming space for concerts and smaller performances where every note feels personal.
Laxson Auditorium
Laxson Auditorium is Chico’s signature stage, blending historic character with modern lighting, sound, and stage systems. With 1,200 seats, a spacious balcony, and its iconic proscenium arch, it’s home to major touring performances, community events, and hands-on student stage experience.
Bag Policy
- No excessively large bags, purses, or backpacks will be permitted inside the venue.
- Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags.
- All other bags must be 12″ wide x 6″ deep x 12″ high or smaller.
Accessible for All
We are committed to making performances welcoming and accessible for everyone, with services and accommodations available for a range of needs.
Seating & Access
Accessible seating is available at all venues and companion seating may be available next to accessible locations.
Service Animals
Service animals are welcome in accordance with the ADA.
Assistive Listening Devices
Assistive listening devices are available at the Laxson Auditorium Box Office before each event. A valid photo ID is required.
