Though concert halls may have been closed during the height of the pandemic, the Balourdet String Quartet was still able to accomplish great things. The quartet received the Grand Prize at the 2021 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition in New York City as well as the top prize in the 2021 International String Quartet Competition “Premio Paolo Borciani” in Reggio Emilia, Italy. These stellar musicians also received the Gold Medal in the 2020 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition and the Gold Medal and Audience Award at the 2021 Chamber Music Yellow Springs Competition. They are currently artists-in-residence at the prestigious New England Conservatory’s Professional String Quartet Program.
