Kicking off the third annual Dance Chico! week is the Chicago-based dance company Lucky Plush. In a performance they call a “dance party”—and aptly titled “Trip the Light Fantastic: The Making of Super Strip”—the dancers of Lucky Plush pay homage to classic pulp novels and comic books in a blend of dance, theater, and visual design that moves between live performance and projected video in unexpected ways. This production is a hybrid of modern dance and physical theater with killer visuals that transform the stage into a giant comic book think tank.
