Two Austin-based bands that have carved their own distinctive niches in Western swing music take the stage for a unique night. For over 45 years, Asleep at the Wheel has been building on the Texas swing legacy begun by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Hot Club of Cowtown takes the same Texas swing and merges it with its older French cousin, Gypsy Swing, for a toe-tapping good time. Fiddle and guitar strings will be smoking when the best country swing virtuosos come to Chico for an evening on the Laxson stage.
