Chico Performances is proud to partner with the Nor Cal Jazz Festival and the Big Room at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. to present the Metta Quintet. Kicking off the Nor Cal Jazz Festival, this performance will feature the New York-based Metta Quintet as well as opening performances by local jazz artists. The innovative musicians of Metta Quintet are fueled by a collective, open-minded musical curiosity and are dedicated to exploring new musical territory. Metta stands on the cutting edge of jazz, fostering young musicians who create new works and immerse themselves in the jazz standards. As a spring board to a month long celebration of jazz, this concert will explore the bounds of jazz with cutting-edge works and old, much loved standards.
Opening for the Metta Quintet is the soulful Jazz Vocals of Kezirah, who will be performing along with Bob Karch on guitar, Brad Schneider on bass, Larry Lambert on keyboards and Steve Smith on drums.
